Once upon a time, the radio was the center of everything at home. It was the place where family members gathered to hear the country’s leaders speak. And then TV arrived. The radio survived and kept us company in the kitchen. And then the computer came along, and the radio was yet again pushed aside a bit, while still maintaining a presence in the car. And then the smartphone rolled in…

So before the radio becomes extinct, we want to show it some respect. 

In the city center, there is a massive radio. This isn’t just a statue, but a fully functioning radio. Passerby turn the knobs to pick up their favorite station, they can crank up the volume or keep it down, start dancing or just give it a listen with a concerned look on their faces, just like grandma used to do.

פעם לפני הרבה שנים, הרדיו היה מרכז החיים בבית, המקום בו התאספו כולם לשמוע את הנאומים של שועי המדינה. ואז הגיעה הטלוויזיה, אבל הרדיו החזיק מעמד, והמשיך ללוות אותנו במטבח. ואז הגיע המחשב, והרדיו קצת נדחק- אבל תמיד היה במכונית. ואז הגיע הטלפון החכם... לפני שהוא נעלם לגמרי מחיינו, אנו מבקשים להשיב מעט כבוד לרדיו

במרכז העיר מוצב רדיו ענק. זהו לא רק פסל, הוא באמת רדיו שעובד! אפשר לסובב את הכפתורים ולדלג בין תחנות, להגביר ולהנמיך את הווליום, לרקוד לידו טראנס או הורה, או סתם להאזין לטרנזיסטור, כמו שסבתא עשתה פעם
