A musical collection used to have a physical form.

To listen to music, you had to allocate space in your house to store it, to actually hold it in your hands, look at the cover, take out the record from its rustling nylon wrapper, examine the scratches recently added and gently place it on the turning table…

The Record Collection is a musical installation that is activated by it’s visitors.

Every record pulled from the shelf will start to play.

When another record is pulled, the music will change accordingly. To listen again to the same track, you have to return the record to its place and pull it out again.

To hear an entire song, visitors will need coordinate and work together.

For a brief moment, music sharing will go back to its origins. From searching the record library, selecting one record and listening together through the speaker above.
